“Ambrosia”, drop of art and contemporary macro photography.

Water is an inexhaustible source of creativity in the art of Muriel Despiau. Each drop, each moment, each light and each support makes it a unique and singular artistic subject. The emphasis on the infinitely small, the happy accident created between all the elements, offer a creation often on the border of abstraction and figuration, full of mystery and beauty.

Nectar and ointment of the gods in Greek mythology, ambrosia is the substance of immortality. A tribute to the precious water that Muriel Despiau observes in the most unlikely spaces. Here what seems to be a spider’s web becomes, through the magic of light and reflections, a bouquet.

It seems essential to us to remember that Muriel Despiau does all of her photographic work on location and does not retouch her photos.
