“Porquerolles Bicycles” is a contemporary black and white photograph by José Nicolas. It is a silver print in a limited edition of 30 copies.

As part of a report on the island of Porquerolles, off the coast of Hyères, José Nicolas took a look at life on this privileged spot.

In Porquerolles, car traffic is forbidden, so you can get around on foot or by bicycle. You can walk around the island, get lost in the paths that cross the forest, suffer a little on the climbs when it is hot, and cool off in the creeks.

By its subject, the peace that emanates from it, but also thanks to the quality of the silver print, this photo seems out of time, a golden age, where happiness is simply in the present moment.
