“Porquerolles Flight” is a contemporary black and white photograph by José Nicolas. It is a silver print in a limited edition of 30 copies.
As part of a report on the island of Porquerolles, off the coast of Hyères, José Nicolas took a look at life on this privileged spot. The island of Porquerolles, off the coast of Hyères, is a protected natural area and home to many species of birds.
This photograph by José Nicolas was taken on the spot, in the manner of a photo-reportage, hence its framing with a tilted horizon and the blurred effect that surrounds the scene. The hunter and his prey are clearly visible: in the foreground, the spotted wing of a bird of prey, probably the fearsome peregrine falcon, which nests in the rocky escarpments of the island, waiting “with firm claws” for the arrival of the migratory passerines each spring…
“Porquerolles Flight” is presented in its frame under glass.
