“The Cheyenne Mountain”, drop of art and contemporary macro photography.

Water is an inexhaustible source of creativity in the art of Muriel Despiau. Each drop, each moment, each light and each support makes it a unique and singular artistic subject. The emphasis on the infinitely small, the happy accident created between all the elements, offer a creation often on the border of abstraction and figuration, full of mystery and beauty.

“The Cheyenne Mountain” looks like a landscape, a rounded dune in the middle of a desert. The light plays to create a perfectly ovoid shape. The single drop condenses the light and the perfect roundness. A composition in perfect balance, offered by nature. But also, as often with the artist, an invitation to travel.

It seems essential to us to remember that Muriel Despiau does all of her photographic work on location and does not retouch her photos.
